My doctoral research study was carried out to understand the paleoceanographic changes in the eastern Arabian Sea mainly focused on Indian summer monsoon variability and wind-induced upwelling during the late Quaternary period using foraminifera (benthic and planktic) and geochemical proxies (Carbon and Oxygen isotope and TOC) from the marine sediment cores to examine the past climate changes on centennial to millennial timescales. I studied marine sediments to reconstruct the past changes in ocean chemistry, paleoenvironment, paleoproductivity, and paleoclimate variability.
At present as a postdoctoral fellow, I am involved to reconstruct the Holocene climate variability and its possible linkages with civilization and several Neolithic culture in this south Asian monsoon region. Particularly focus on the weakening of the Indian summer monsoon and its linkages with the Indus civilization.
The obtained results are progressing in publishing reputed journals.
